Brand Crush: LILY AND LIONEL

Sometimes, a brand comes a long that seems to fill every crevice in your wardrobe. We were introduced to the lovely Alice from Lily and Lionel through a mutual friend, and once we'd done the obligatory Google search, we couldn't get into her studio quick enough, such is the power of her prints!

Acres of vivid textiles, rails and rails of soft, easy dresses, Alice's vision for feminine, go-to pieces somehow suit both of our individual Step Up style personalities perfectly. And what's more, Alice epitomises everything that we love and admire about modern working women: determined, humble, inquisitive and a real listener, she is as savvy and bright as she is creative. And kind to boot.

What started out as small company focused solely on woven silk scarves, and named after Alice's grandparents, has now expanded itself very capably around dresses, blouses and nightwear. Really, there is nothing on this site that we wouldn't happily slip into our wardrobe - and pull out on a daily basis!

Now we're sure that some of you are already recoiling at the thought of how to make prints work, well at work. If that's you, be patient, because Lily and Lionel isn't only about ditsy florals and Serengeti leopards. This brand understands that not all women feel comfortable in prints, or even know where to start in them. So for beginners, or those of you who work on the more formal side of things, we've done a special CORPORATE edit. And for everyone else, we've let rip a bit and called it CREATIVE - because a riot of fabulous prints, doesn't half put you in the mood for summer!
